Mr. Itani, a member of the Haku Un Comprehensive Course, was promoted to 8th Dan in Kyoto on May 1st..
He is the first Haku Un member to achieve the rank of 8th Dan.

Mr. Itani studied under Okada sensei at the Nippon Sport Science University, where Okada sensei was the main instructor. After the graduation, Mr. Itani worked as an assistant in the kendo laboratory before being transferred to Chuo Gakuin High School, where he coached the kendo club and sent many members to the Kanto tournament and the All Japan high school tournament.

Since entering the university, he has continued to study and train under Okada sensei for more than 30 years.
